One of the most significant figures of the clergy from Carpi, father Roberto Maletti was a man of action who belonged with full rights to the category of the «social priests» that at the end of the nineteenth century involved the Christian community not only in the assistance to people but also in the fields of work, economic organization and political representation. However, his political engagement (he consciously belonged to the Catholic Movement for a long time) did not lead him away from his pastoral tasks. First in Carpi and then in Mirandola, Maletti put his practical intelligence and initiative at the service of the Church. He died unexpectedly on 24th December 1927, at the age of 48.
